Man accused of groping fellow motorist in Hollywood
Amaury Quiros Jr. wouldn't take no for an answer when hitting on a fellow motorist in Hollywood, police said.
Quiros, 30, yelled to the 28-year-old woman that she "had a flat tire" while driving north in the 500 block of North 46th Avenue at 3:45 p.m. June 25, according to the arrest warrant.
She pulled over to check the wheels of the 2005 Nissan Murano she was driving. Quiros pulled up behind her in a white pickup. He got out, walked over and told her he was "just kidding," the warrant stated.
Quiros asked for her phone number, and wrote his number on a piece of paper and gave it to her.
She told him she was married but he continued to pursue and make sexually suggestive comments, Broward Judge John Hurley read from the warrant.
"[Quiros] allegedly forceably grabbed the victim and gave her a hug against her will," he read. "She pushed him off [and] he allegedly grabbed her buttocks, put his hand in her pants and tried to continue to hug her."
She struggled to get back in her car but Quiros blocked her access, police said. When she slipped past him and closed the driver's side door he forced the half-open driver's window down, leaned his upper body through the window, grabbed her face and kissed her, then pulled her shirt down to grope her, the warrant stated.
She drove to work a few blocks away and called police. Detectives identified Quiros from a fingerprint on her vehicle's door, according to the report.
The judge ordered Quiros held without bond on a charge of burglary with assault or battery. Quiros also is charged with false imprisonment, records show.
Quiros' attorney, John Weekes, said in bond court Tuesday that both parties exchanged phone numbers and that the encounter may have been consensual.
